These are the "Kapteyn series" plate scans. The files were scanned and provided my Milcho Tsvetkov, . Markus synced them here 2012-07-23 using the command line env RSYNC_RSH="ssh -p2222" rsync -av astrodata07.gac-grid.org:/store/01/aip/digitplates/POT015_KS_FITS data/incoming -- the remote server accepts msdemlei@alnilam's ssh pubkey. The files in incoming include rotated scans (_r.fits). We ignore these for now. The incoming images were not in a good shape, frequently being FITS-invalid, and they've not been cut out. They were processed into what's in data/fits (our actual data files) using bin/fix_incoming.py. In 2014, Milcho Tsvetkov has visited ARI, and further work was done on those. Milcho came up with the .coutout.txt and .observed.txt files in res, and he brought in the low-res color scans in data/static/jpegs as well as the data/static/wedges. The test data was obtained by simply pulling in the metadata from alnilam using copyTableFancy: copyTableFancy.py kapteyn/q#main kapteyn.main For datalink testing, we additionally need a cutout of POT015_000317.fits and some data in static. As Markus.
